Hip-hop artist J.I.D has teamed up with Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes to reimagine the cereal’s signature ’90s jingle with his own full-length track “Hey Tony!” Limited edition collaborative merch and cereal boxes are also dropping as part of this new partnership.
“Hey Tony!” recognizes Tony the Tiger as a “Day One” icon at the center of optimism and encourages individuals to reach their fullest potential:
“Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes and Tony the Tiger have always stood for encouragement and belief,” says Laura Newman, Vice President of Brand Marketing at WK Kellogg Co. “Hip Hop is a culture built on that same energy, so teaming up with J.I.D. was a natural connection for us to bring back ‘Hey Tony’ in a way that honors helping to bring out your greatness for a new generation.”
The apparel capsule includes a tee and a jersey with an illustrated design of both Tony the Tiger and J.I.D stylishly leaning against a vehicle. Additionally, a special-edition Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes “Day Ones” cereal box will be available, featuring a QR code linking to the track on Spotify, as well as a collaborative crossword puzzle.
“Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes and Tony the Tiger were a real staple in our house growing up. It was just part of the routine,” J.I.D says. “So, reimagining the iconic ‘Hey Tony’ jingle felt like a no-brainer. I still remember catching the commercials as a kid, and that nostalgia is real—but this is also a chance to bring that energy forward and help hype up the next generation with a soundtrack that motivates them to show up, stay focused, and unlock their potential.”
J.I.D will perform “Hey Tony” live at the Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes “Day Ones” Bowl Game on February 22nd. The event will feature a pep rally and 7×7 football games between four local teams, with each team receiving “Mission Tiger” funding for equipment and facilities.
