Jae Tips Is Dropping His Own Skullcandy Headphones

A limited edition Crusher ANC 2 in translucent emerald.

Bronx-based designer and Savior Worldwide founder Jae Tips is adding Skullcandy to his long-list of collaborators. Following sell-out releases of projects with brands such as Saucony, New Era, and G-SHOCK, Jae Tips now brings his signature New York energy to the Skullcandy Crusher ANC 2 for his first audio collaboration.

Inspired by the translucent computer and video game console aesthetic of the ’90s and early ’00s, Jae Tips designed a transparent emerald colorway with buttons in various colors reminiscent of classic N64 controllers.

The headphones are also adorned with Tips’ signature floral motifs and come equipped with Skullcandy’s Crusher multi-sensory bass and adjustable noise cancellation technology.

“For this collaboration, I was inspired by gel and acrylic Nintendos and the early Mac computers,” says Jae Tips. “My goal was to create something that I wasn’t seeing anywhere else in the marketplace.”

Adding to the nostalgic video game aesthetic, each pair of headphones comes in special packaging inspired by Super Mario Bros.

The Jae Tips x Skullcandy Crusher ANC 2 will launch at a special pop-up event in Manhattan on May 19th from 5-8pm at the Chelsea Best Buy (60 W 23rd St). A limited online drop on Skullcandy.com will follow on May 20th. Check out the collab below.
