After signing with Li-Ning in late 2020, Jimmy Butler and the Chinese sportswear brand now present Butler’s first signature shoe, the JB1.
According to Li-Ning, the design of the JB1 is based on Butler’s intense play style and draws inspiration from many predator forms in nature that have strong hunting ability. Diagonal lines and sharp triangular shapes in the shoe’s design symbolize fangs and paws.
Tech specs on the JB1 include an upper made with durable BOOM Fiber material, a bouncy midsole insert with full-length BOOM cushioning, an embedded full-length carbon fiber plate, and a brand new Honeycomb Cellular LOC outsole that provides strong grip performance on indoor courts.
The debut colorway, simply called “Tough,” comes in a red and orange color scheme as a nod to Butler’s current NBA team, the Miami Heat. The Heat are known for their toughness and strong-will, as is Butler. Butler led the team in several tough games, including in the 2022 Eastern Conference Finals, where he played with persistence despite suffering from injury.
