A collaboration two years in the making, Jimmy Choo has launched a collaboration with street artist Eric Haze. You may know HAZE for his Nike collaborations, most notably the coveted 2003 Dunk High and Low.
The collaboration includes a collection of mens and womenswear and accessories, a Medicom Toy BE@RBRICK, and NFTs. Jimmy Choo’s Creative Director Sandra Choi and New York graffiti artist HAZE teamed up with Japan’s United Arrows & Sons Creative Director Motofumi “Poggy” Kogi, who curated the collection. All based in different cities around the world, the process was interrupted by a global pandemic but is now ready to be released to the public.
Starting with the apparel, each collection features a monochromatic black and white color palette. The womenswear takes on a “Chasing Stars” direction through the heels, sneakers, handbags and accessories, drawing on constellation-like patterns and monochrome artwork. The menswear on the other hand calls on “Urban Design,” taking inspiration from ’90s business looks and streetwear. Sneakers, hoodies, loafers, and bags comprise the offering.
The BE@RBRICK features a transparent body with an iridescent finish. HAZE’s signature urban graphics covers the design, while inside is a light-up star logo. It will be available in a 100% and 400% box set as well as 1000% sizing.
Last but not least is Jimmy Choo’s first-ever NFT project. The NFT “mystery packs” will include four designs in total to collection, with an NFT auction held on October 20th.
The JIMMY CHOO / ERIC HAZE CURATED BY POGGY collection is now available on the jimmychoo.com and select global stores. The BE@RBRICK will release on October 16th.
