Kids of Immigrants (KOI) is continuing its partnership with Nike with a two-shoe capsule that explores the intersection of soccer, streetwear, and cultural identity. Following the release of its unconventional Total 90 Mule earlier this year, the community-minded label is turning its attention to Nike’s Tiempo line, bringing its design language to both the street-ready Tiempo Streetgato and performance-focused Tiempo Maestro Elite.
The Tiempo Streetgato arrives in a vibrant yellow colorway, with KOI branding on the lateral near the laces and a KOI x Nike soccer logo on the tongue and insoles.
Joining it is the Tiempo Maestro Elite, a performance cleat previously previewed on the feet of Brazilian footballer Matheus Cunha. Its design draws inspiration from the mountainous landscapes of Honduras and Liberia, the homelands of KOI founders Daniel Buezo and Weleh Dennis. Rather than the traditional horizontal ridges found on the Tiempo, the collaboration introduces a new upper pattern with lines radiating outward from the midfoot. A yellow-to-red gradient adorns the upper, with black accents across the midfoot, lining, and outsole.
The two models represent different sides of soccer culture, connecting the sport’s on-field performance roots with its influence beyond the pitch. The release also marks KOI’s first-ever football drop with Nike, and the brand is celebrating with an early launch event at its flagship in Los Angeles.
The Kids of Immigrants x Nike Tiempo Streetgato and Maestro Elite will be available first at a pre-launch event at the KOI Flagship in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 7, from 12-7pm. The festivities include early access on a first-come, first-served basis, as well as a soccer tournament with Immortals Futbol Club, House of 626, LA Hooligans FC, and Best LA Athletics. Attendees can also expect music, food from Marathon Burger, and t-shirt customization with purchase.
