Kith has unveiled a collection of 1-of-1 reconstructed Russell Athletics garments as part of the label’s upcoming Monday Program.
While product shots have yet to be revealed, the brand posted a promo clip for the collection showing a model shopping around NYC for vintage Russell crewnecks, taking them to a tailor, and reconstructing them into a new, patchwork-style hoodie. The video, especially taken with the “1-of-1” collection name, seems to imply that Ronnie Fieg’s shop will be releasing exclusive, highly-limited, and hand-sewn garments made using the same process. This would align with Fieg’s obsession with finding and paying tribute to the perfect athletic basics; Kith is widely known for their attention to detail and interest in fabric experimentation in their in-house releases, many of which are simple, branded sweats meant to be versatile wardrobe staples.
You can check out the teaser video for the collection down below, as well as a photo journal of the video’s process on Kith’s website.
