LEGO is celebrating the first-ever SpongeBob Day with the unveiling of a new set in collaboration with the hit Nickelodeon show. The LEGO Icons SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom set brings together SpongeBob’s pineapple, Squidward’s Easter Island-style house, and Patrick’s rock in a single 1,794-piece build, marking the first-ever SpongeBob LEGO set made specifically for adults.
Each home opens up to reveal its interior. SpongeBob‘s place comes with a furnished living room and bedroom, while Squidward’s house goes as far as a full bathroom, complete with a tub, shower, and a shower curtain he’s hiding behind. Patrick’s rock lifts, exposing his sand-made furniture. Outside the houses, Patrick’s boatmobile shows up, parked next to a little “Bikini Bottom” road sign made of coral. A separate Jellyfish Fields section rounds things out, complete with a “Jellyfish Fields” sign, a catching net, and a couple of translucent pink jellyfish rigged up on stems that actually move.
The build includes minifigures of SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward, plus brick-built versions of Gary and DoodleBob. Smaller details throughout reference the show directly, including Squidward’s clarinet and a portrait of Gary tucked into the build.
Alongside the main set, LEGO is also releasing a BrickHeadz SpongeBob SquarePants Figure, a kid-friendly 72-piece build with SpongeBob holding his jellyfishing net.
