Chase B, Travis Scott’s live DJ and record producer signed to Cactus Jack Records, has announced the release of his 59FIFTY fitted hat created in partnership with Lids and MLB.
The Chase B “Maximal” 59FIFTY, as the name suggests, features a maximalist approach to the design, with each panel featuring a different material and print. The main inspiration for the mash-up design, however, is the Nike “What The” series, specifically the “What The” SB Dunk Low from 2007, one of Chase B’s all-time favorite sneakers.
The six panels of the fitted feature red corduroy, Realtree camo, tie-dye, and more, while the interior is adorned with a galaxy print. The hat also features a brown visor and a light pink undervisor. It will be available in eight variations, each representing a different Major League Baseball team: the Atlanta Braves, Chicago White Sox, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers, and Washington Nationals.
Chase B’s partnership with Lids is a full-circle moment for the Houston native, as his last job before pursuing music was at the Lids store in Pentagon City Mall in DC, where he worked part-time while attending Howard University. In honor of this, a special early release in the DMV will take place on March 8th.
