Pharrell Williams has been building out a whole world at Louis Vuitton, and this time he’s taking it outside. The Fall Men’s Capsule, landing in late September as a lead-in to next spring’s main collection, trades the energy of the city for something much quieter: a countryside picnic.
Think sage greens, wet-stone grays, and the kind of burnt orange you’d find on a camping stove, showing up across suede jackets, wool coats, and tailored trousers. As for the Monogram, it doesn’t disappear so much as it gets quieter, appearing aged into a jacket as though it’s been worn for years, shrunk down into a Nanogram lining, or woven into what’s basically a tablecloth-inspired pattern. There’s also a version flocked tone-on-tone and another embossed just enough that you’d have to get close to catch it.
The workwear pieces do a lot of the heavy lifting. Flannels, quilted liners, carpenter pants, and a denim shirt with pearl buttons feel rooted in utility, but each is elevated just enough to remain unmistakably Louis Vuitton. Even the mink gilet gets roped into the theme, its Damier Check rendered as a gradient intarsia rather than the usual grid.
Bags lean into the same story a little more literally. There’s a woven Picnic Keepall 45 with an apple-shaped leather tag hanging off it, and a new bear charm carrying its own miniature basket of Monogram food. Together, they reflect Pharrell’s willingness to embrace a more playful side of the House since taking over the menswear line.
Footwear rounds out the capsule with the usual rotation reimagined. The LV City Ranger and Remix Ranger boots embrace the outdoor inspiration with Monogram Flower lacing hooks and chunky lug soles, while the Tilted and Trainer return in new material combinations, from gingham and Damier-embossed rubber to Bordeaux suede and olive canvas.
