February 9th is National Pizza Day. To celebrate, New Balance has teamed up with acclaimed sneaker customizer and designer Mache on a “Pizza” edition of the 57/40.
Marking Mache’s first collaboration with New Balance, the 57/40 “Pizza” features a beige mesh base with golden brown suede overlays, representing the dough and the crust of a pizza. Red, green, and burgundy accents are found throughout, representing the tomato sauce, green pepper and pepperoni toppings. Additional details include pizza graphics on the insoles and a red and white checkerboard pattern on the tongue tags typically found on pizza boxes. The shoe box also features a pizza box theme, as well as the accompanying long-sleeve tee.
The Mache x New Balance 57/40 “Pizza” will be available this Wednesday, February 9th at select Foot Locker and Champs Sports locations and online on February 11th on FootLocker.com and ChampsSports.com.
