Mizuno and Maharishi are back for a third time, and this round, they went straight for the crown jewel, the Wave Prophecy LS. The Japanese performance brand and the London-based label have launched a collab on Mizuno’s most recognizable silhouette, rendered in Black with dragon-tongue embroidery.
Mizuno has been doing this since 1906. Brothers Rihachi and Rizo started the whole thing in Osaka with a genuine love for Western sports culture, and their obsession with performance never left. Over a century later, their Sportstyle line is doing what it was always supposed to, pulling all that technical DNA and dropping it into silhouettes that actually make sense on the street. The Wave Prophecy, with its statement-making Infinity Wave sole and layered construction, was already a statement shoe before anyone touched it.
So what did Maharishi do here? They leaned hard into the duality thing they’re known for, East meets West, nature meets tech, function meets symbolism. The upper is crafted from various materials, giving it texture and depth, including premium leather, suede, mesh, and TPU. It’s premium without being flashy about it.
The details do the heavy lifting. Dragon embroidery across the tongue adds a bold, intricate focal point, rooted in Maharishi’s ongoing exploration of Eastern symbolism. Reflective 3M hits and a structural TPU cage round out the build. A black-and-olive palette keeps things grounded, with subtle olive accents breaking up the upper and adding dimension without compromising the stealth aesthetic.
The Mizuno Sportstyle x Maharishi Wave Prophecy LS drops March 27th at 11am GMT through Maharishi, followed by a global release on April 10th via the Mizuno website and select retailers.
