BAPE Announces Marvel BAPE STA Release Info

Original Story (08/18/22): BAPE and Marvel go way back. Back in 2005, the two teamed up to release some of the most iconic sneakers of all time, a collection of BAPE STAs based on Marvel Comics superheroes. Not only were the shoes great, but they came packaged in blister packs that mimicked action figure packaging, adding another layer of fun to the project. Seventeen years later, BAPE and Marvel are dropping a new collection of superhero BAPE STAs, inducing nostalgia for comic book fans and streetwear fans alike.

The 2022 Marvel BAPE STA collection features six different colorways, each based on a different member of the Avengers. Some of the heroes from the 2005 pack make their return — Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and the Hulk — though there are also a couple newcomers — Black Widow and Rocket Raccoon. Each pair comes with patent leather uppers and features their respective character on the lateral heel of the left shoe, as well as a Marvel logo on the heel of the right shoe. Like the ’05 pack, these also come in blister packaging.

Update (08/19/22): The Marvel BAPE STA collection drops this Sunday, August 21st at US BAPE Store locations and online. Dropping on Sunday, September 4th in Asia. Price per pair is $349 USD. Matching tees for each character will also be available in black and white colorways, priced at $125 USD.
