Five years ago, on October 31st, the world lost musical legend Daniel Dumile—better known as MF DOOM. To honor the fifth anniversary of his passing, the MF DOOM Estate has partnered with Rhymesayers Entertainment to celebrate his memory through a capsule of New York Knicks collaborations with Mitchell & Ness and New Era.
The collection features apparel — basketball jerseys and shorts, warm-up tops, breakaway pants, tees, and hooded sweatshirts — while accessories include fitted hats, snapbacks, rally towels, water bottles, mini basketball hoops, and keychains. MF DOOM graphics and branding appear across every piece. The capsule also includes a limited Super7 ReAction Figure and Knicks-inspired GasDrawls exclusives.
The estate reflects on the historic connection between the late rapper and the NBA team:
“DOOM’s love for New York ran deep, and the Knicks were part of that story. He was often spotted rocking their colors, and those iconic #33 jerseys, on stage and off. This collection is our way of celebrating DOOM’s New York roots and the team he proudly supported.”
One of Hip-Hop’s most beloved anti-heroes, MF DOOM—also known simply as DOOM—showcased his musical brilliance through unconventional rhythms and his signature choppy, sample-heavy production style. Early in his career, Daniel Dumile was known as Zev Love X, a member of the short-lived but influential Golden Era rap group K.M.D. He later reemerged in the late ’90s with a persona inspired by Marvel Comics’ supervillain Dr. Doom, donning a metal mask that became his defining visual identity. Through a range of alter egos and collaborations, DOOM continued to expand his mythos. Described as “the fine line between insanity and genius,” his work left an indelible mark on hip-hop culture.
