Original Story (09/02/21): New Balance designer Yue Wu knocked it out of the park with the release of his first NB lifestyle designs, the “Refined Future” 2002Rs (more commonly known as the “Protection Pack”). This “Refined Future” design is coming to more NB models, including the 57/40 and 1300.
First looks at a “Refined Future” 57/40 have surfaced, dressed in a color scheme similar to the Sea Salt/Munsell White colorway in th 2002R pack. Like the aforementioned pack, this 57/40 features jagged edges and distressed elements to mimic “eroded” paneling, inspired by old folks walking around Boston in their NBs until the shoes fell apart.
