The annual New Balance “Grey Days” celebration returns this May—a month-long event that honors the brand’s history and iconic grey hue by bringing together its family of ambassadors and athletes, alongside special-edition product launches, storytelling, and immersive experiences.
The color grey has represented the footwear brand since the 1980s, a design choice that has since bridged performance running with the tones of asphalt, concrete, and natural landscapes. In contrast to competitors choosing vibrant and flashy colors, New Balance’s neutral palette continues to symbolize its timeless design language and understated global influence.
Similar to last year’s celebration, the 2026 Grey Days festivities begin with the launch of Grey Shop, now live at New Balance stores and the New Balance website. Select styles are already available, with additional releases scheduled throughout May. Highlights include the Numeric Andrew Reynolds 993 on May 1st, the ABZORB 2010 on May 8th, the ABZORB 5030 on May 15th, and the Numeric 770 on May 22nd.
This year’s campaign brings the grey color scheme to life with a roster of the Boston-based label’s athletes and ambassadors, including Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Darius Garland, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Andrew Reynolds. Artist Aminé helped kick off the celebration with a teaser video raising the Grey Days flag.
