NIGO and Nike’s collaborations on the Air Force 3 are coming to an end. For the final chapter, the BAPE and Human Made founder presents two two collegiate-themed colorways alongside coordinating apparel pieces.
Similar to their three-way collaboration with Levi’s, NIGO’s final take on the Air Force 3 spotlights his passion for vintage Americana, though this time with an added nod to Nike’s collegiate sports history. A Ducks-inspired “Forest Green” colorway celebrates Nike’s birthplace in Oregon and the alma mater of Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman, while a “Midnight Navy” nods to Georgetown University, whose partnership with Nike began in the early 1980s and spawned the Terminator High, the first team-specific signature shoe. Both pairs feature Pendleton wool construction as a nod to collegiate varsity jackets, premium leather overlays, a chain-stitched Air Force logo on the tongue, and Pendleton branding on the insoles.
Accompanying the sneaker lineup are two matching reversible Pendleton wool Souvenir Jackets in the “Midnight Navy” and “Forest Green” color palettes, which can be used as a canvas for the in-box patches that come with each pair of NIGO x Nike Air Force 3s.
The campaign showcases each piece from the collection by tapping into a homecoming-inspired theme, complete with a celebratory athletic parade and moments from prom traditions that evoke varsity team pride.
The NIGO x Nike Air Force 3 and apparel collection will be available on January 31st at 11am Japan time on humanmade.jp, with a wider release of the “Midnight Navy” colorway following on February 6th via SNKRS and select retailers.
