One of the most legendary shoes of all time is making a comeback. The Air Foamposite One “Galaxy” is set to return as part of Nike’s All-Star 2025 lineup.
The “Galaxy” Air Foamposite One was originally released in 2012 as part of Nike Basketball’s space-themed All-Star collection, which also featured the “Galaxy” Kobe 7, “Galaxy” KD 4, and “Big Bang” LeBron 9. Though the whole lineup was stellar, the Foamposite One stood out amongst the rest, as it was the first time we saw a printed upper on a Foamposite. This paired with the glow-in-the-dark outsole and the limited nature of the shoe made for a perfect hypestorm.
Getting your hands on the Air Foamposite One “Galaxy” was no easy feat. There was no online release for the shoe, so sneakerheads camped out for days in front of their local stores for the chance to purchase the elusive kicks. Chaos broke out at various malls across the country, and police had to being called in to control the massive crowds. Someone on Craigslist was even willing to trade their used car for a pair in his size.
Now thirteen years later, the Air Foamposite One “Galaxy” is back in its original form. The hype has died down, so it should be a whole easier to cop this time around. That said, this is a Quickstrike (QS) release, so expect them to be limited. Plus, this is a grail status shoe, and the nostalgia factor alone makes these one of the most anticipated releases of 2025.
The Nike Air Foamposite One “Galaxy” is slated to drop February 2025 on SNKRS and at select retailers. Grab a preview below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
