Original Story (03/08/26): Nike’s designers have cooked up a pack of patent leather Air Force 1s in bright colors, set to release as part of the brand’s Summer 2026 footwear lineup.
Each of the patent leather Air Force 1s comes in bold two-tone color schemes, drawing from the nostalgia of brightly colored styles from the mid-2000s. There’s a “Topaz Gold” colorway in yellow with green, a “Dark Team Red” colorway that pairs burgundy with orange, and a “Mystic Navy” iteration dressed in deep blue and purple with light lime green laces. Each pair features glossy patent leather construction, smooth leather sock liners, and icy translucent outsoles.
Nike designer Frank Cooke took to Instagram to share an original sample of the “Mystic Navy” pair and some thoughts on the design process behind these general release colorways:
“The task of making shoes people would like to buy throughout the week was a challenge but a fun one… yall know I’m not even used to anything that I work on even having a chance of being on the sales floor! Just know I am super proud and thankful for the team that I am currently on, such a great group of people that make things happen and I am grateful for each and everyone of them. Make GRs great again!”
