Nike brings the future to the present with the Air Max 95000, a 3D-printed silhouette that pays tribute to the classic Air Max 95 model while embracing the newest wave in sneaker culture — computational design and printable footwear.

Making its debut in black with volt green accents, the Air Max 95000 is the first shoe born from Nike’s Project Nectar, a specially formulated printing process that delivers durability and traction on the outsole as well as bold detailing on the 3D-printed upper. The silhouette builds on the futuristic form of the Air Max 1000, developed with Zellerfeld using the company’s new multicolor-ready Gen3 printers, by stacking the same 3D-printed chassis with a “Big Bubble” Max Air unit in the heel and a smaller Max Air unit in the forefoot to provide a consistently soft, smooth and just-springy-enough feeling underfoot.

The Air Max 95000 made its debut at ComplexCon in Las Vegas, where attendees were given a chance to win a free pair of “Black/Volt” colorway ahead of its release.

“Zellerfeld was founded to reimagine how footwear is created and experienced,” says Cornelius Schmitt, CEO, Zellerfeld. “What began as a profound idea to give creators more freedom has grown into something much bigger. Today, the brand we all grew up admiring is using our platform to design faster, test ideas instantly, experiment without limits and bring entirely new silhouettes to life. Nike has always defined the future of footwear, and Zellerfeld’s technology is helping unlock new possibilities in design.”

This innovative application of Nike Air serves as an ode to the Air Max 95, 30 years after its introduction as the foremost Air innovation of its time. The silhouette also nods to the future of Air — a limitless platform whose fluid, expressive technology spans across the entire brand, from performance apparel and footwear to ultra-modern streetwear silhouettes.

“We never would have been able to create this silhouette using traditional methods, and this sculptural, contoured design and futuristic application of Air is only the beginning of a multi-year journey with Zellerfeld and what we see as unlimited possibility in a new era of 3D-printed footwear,” says Brittany Shelton, VP, North America Brand Management.
