Following the unveiling of the Boston Red Sox and Florida Marlins jerseys, Nike presents the third jersey in its MLB City Connect Series: the Chicago White Sox.
In 1991, the Chicago White Sox started wearing black, creating a brand identity that aligned with the Southside’s gritty, hardworking and resilient personality. This rebrand not only resonated within the city, but throughout hip-hop and youth culture.
The City Connect jersey builds on this, adding a large “Southside” graphic across the chest in the White Sox gothic-script font. Dark grey hits, inspired by the city’s Greystone architecture, are mixed in with black to give the jersey added texture and depth. Catch the White Sox wearing these jerseys on field on June 5th.
