Nike went all out with their Jurassic Park collab on the Ja 3. Two colorways, a custom box, and even a keychain, this one is made for the fans who grew up on the classic ’93 film.
The “Explorer” is the louder one of the two, and it very clearly takes its color inspiration from the Ford Explorer in the film. Yellow dominates the midsole, outsole, and part of the upper, then transitions into a bright green that floods the laces and tongue, with red slash marks across both colors. The tongue features both the Jurassic Park logo and Ja Morant’s emblem. You’ll notice someone is peeking back at you when you look at the insole: a graphic of two dinosaurs through tall grass takes over.
Now the “Raptor” takes a darker route. Yellow ochre leaks onto the black underneath, with a red Swoosh cutting through; this colorway reads more restrained. The insole in this one also keeps it fun with a T. rex skeleton printed in white.
Both pairs come in a cage-printed shoebox designed to look like one of the park’s containment cages. Open it up, and the lid reads: “Ja will not be contained. Ja breaks free, Ja finds a way.” Tucked inside is an amber fossil keychain with Ja’s logo suspended in it, a direct nod to the mosquito-in-amber scene that kicked off the whole film.
Though yet to be officially announced, a third colorway in metallic silver with icy blue outsoles has also surfaced. This pair is reminiscent of the Jurassic World color scheme and the young velociraptor Beta.
The Jurassic Park x Nike Ja 3 “Explorer” and “Raptor” both drop on April 10th via the Nike website and select retailers in full family sizing. Check out the official images below.
