The next Kobe Protro has officially arrived.
Nike has unveiled the Kobe 10 Protro, bringing one of Kobe Bryant’s most celebrated performance sneakers back with modern updates designed for today’s game. More than a decade after its original 2015 debut, the silhouette returns with upgraded cushioning, improved breathability, and refined traction, all while preserving the design elements that made the original a favorite on the court.
The Kobe 10 was already ahead of its time when it first released, emphasizing lightweight performance and low-to-the-ground responsiveness. For the Protro version, Nike kept that philosophy intact while rebuilding nearly every performance component through extensive athlete testing and data collected by the Nike Sport Research Lab.
The most noticeable update comes underfoot. The original combination of Lunarlon foam and heel Zoom Air has been replaced by Cushlon 3.0 paired with a full-length Zoom Strobel, creating a more responsive ride with improved energy return and a consistent court feel from heel to toe.
Up top, Nike redesigned the engineered mesh upper to improve airflow and flexibility while maintaining the secure lockdown players expect from the Kobe line. The forefoot has also been widened slightly for additional comfort, with strategically placed reinforcements providing extra support during quick changes of direction.
The outsole has also been reworked using modern movement data while staying true to the traction principles that defined the original Kobe 10. One detail that remains untouched is the silhouette’s signature carbon fiber forefoot wing, which continues to provide lateral stability during explosive cuts. Hidden within the design is Kobe Bryant’s “Endure and Conquer” message, another hallmark carried over from the original release.
The Kobe 10 Protro makes its debut in the familiar “Halo” colorway on August 23rd, continuing a tradition Nike began in 2023 to celebrate Kobe Bryant’s birthday. Each year, the brand has introduced a new all-white Halo Protro in his honor, beginning with the Kobe 8 Protro in 2023, followed by the Kobe 9 Protro in 2024 and the Kobe 3 Protro in 2025. The Kobe 10 now joins that annual tribute.
Following the Halo launch, additional engineered mesh colorways will release throughout 2026, while Flyknit versions featuring ZoomX cushioning are slated to arrive in 2027.
