Nike and Kobe Bryant’s estate are continuing their “Mambacita” series honoring the memory of Gianna “Gigi” Bryant with a new colorway of the Kobe 3 Low Protro.
Kicking off with the Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita Sweet 16” in 2022, Vanessa Bryant and Nike have dropped new “Mambacita” Kobe shoes on Gigi’s birthday each May 1st, as a way to celebrate her life, legacy, and lasting impact on women’s sports.
Like previous entries in the series, the “Mambacita” Kobe 3 Low Protro comes in a white and black color scheme, matching the colors of Gigi’s Mamba Academy youth basketball uniform. Metallic gold accents are found throughout, including the Sheath logos on the tongues and the “GiGi” branding on the back of the heels. Gigi’s name and jersey number 2 also appear on the inner tongues, while a Mambacita logo of the number 2 with wings and a halo appears on the insoles, packaging, and on the accompanying metallic gold heart-shaped keychain.
The Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro “Mambacita” drops May 1st on SNKRS and at select retailers. Profits benefit the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation. Check out the official images below.
