Nike is celebrating Kobe Bryant’s lifelong love for football and admiration for FC Barcelona with a new collection that combines the late basketball star’s Mamba Mentality with the club’s unwavering pursuit of excellence.
The star of the collection is Barça’s 2025–26 away kit, which features the Kobe Sheath in place of the traditional Nike Swoosh and takes inspiration from Kobe’s classic on-court looks. Marking the first time the Sheath logo has appeared on professional soccer gear, the jersey comes in a light Team Gold base with Persian Violet and black accents, while the shorts feature a black base with a snakeskin-textured pattern and Persian Violet accents. The jersey’s club crest and Kobe Sheath are finished with a silicone gloss 3D snakeskin texture, and the uniform’s socks bear a Kobe Sheath over the shin and “Barça” on the calf.
The collection also features three footwear styles—a Kobe x FC Barcelona Air Force 1 Protro, Kobe 4 Protro, and post-match slide—as well as a curated selection of co-branded lifestyle apparel. The AF1 Protro features a snakeskin-textured Persian Violet upper and follows up the first Kobe AF-1 Protro that dropped earlier this summer. The Kobe 4 Protro comes dressed primarily in Team Gold, and the slides feature the same Persian Violet snakeskin look as the Air Force 1.
Bringing the partnership to life, Nike has launched an accompanying Mamba Rondo campaign featuring Nike and FC Barcelona athletes Alejandro Balde, Pablo Gavi, Patricia Guijarro, Frenkie de Jong, Ewa Pajor, Salma Paralluelo, Claudia Pina, and Alexia Putellas. Inspired by the concept of “Better is the Only Choice,” the film is voiced by first-team men’s coach Hansi Flick and brings Kobe and Barça’s pursuit of perfection to life through the rondo drill, a staple of Barça’s training philosophy that exemplifies the intensity of the club’s training style and the repetitive drive to push beyond.
The Nike Kobe x FC Barcelona apparel will be available globally beginning July 29th at nike.com, the Barça Official Store, and select retailers such as Soccer.com and World Soccer Shop. The Kobe x Barcelona footwear will launch globally July 31st via SNKRS and select retailers. The away kit will also debut on-pitch July 31, when Barça faces FC Seoul as part of the club’s Asian preseason tour. Check out the campaign imagery and footwear lineup below.
