Original Story (08/24/20): While Mamba Week is currently in full effect, Nike’s celebration of Kobe Bryant’s legacy will continue beyond the confines of a week. This means more Kobe products are coming in the near future, including the return of the Kobe 5 “5 Rings.”
Originally release in 2010, this Kobe 5 is equipped with a Concord-colored upper covered with laser etchings that spell out “5” and “Five” in various fonts to commemorate Kobe’s five NBA championships. The etchings come in gold around the toe box, with gold also used the Swoosh, the Kobe branding on the tongue, and Kobe’s signature on the heel. Below the upper is a gradient midsole with a translucent outsole.
The Nike Kobe 5 Protro “5 Rings” is slated to arrive this fall at select retailers and Nike.com for a retail price of $180 USD. Check out the upcoming release below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for an exact release date.
