Nike Honors Indigenous Communities With Summer ’22 N7 Collection

Nike is back with another installment of its N7 collection, a platform of representation to celebrate and honor Native American and Indigenous communities. The Summer ’22 N7 collection is one of three collections unveiled by Nike today created to support inclusive communities, the other two being the Puerto Rico and Be True collections.

Nike launched the N7 line back in 2009 and draws its name from the Seventh Generation Principle, an Iroquois philosophy that says that the decisions made today should honor the seven generations that came before as well as consider the seven generations of the future. Launched alongside the N7 line was the Nike N7 Fund, which has awarded over $8 million in grants administered by the Charities Aid Foundation of America to more than 270 communities and organizations.

The Summer 2022 N7 collection includes three footwear styles: the Free Crater Trail Moc, the Air Max 95, and the Kyrie 5 Low. All three silhouettes are outfitted in a tan colorway with streaks of berry-colored dye mimicking a tanned animal hide. The Trail Moc combines a moccasin-inspired upper with a Free Run Trail outsole made from Nike Grind while sporting sinew-inspired stitching and laces with vibrant pastel eyelet straps. The Air Max 95 takes a similar approach incorporating the colors with the addition of neon green onto the silhouette. Finally, the Kyrie 5 Low sports different hues of green on the Swoosh, laces, and forefoot midsole to complete the footwear selections.

Nike also delivers an N7 apparel collection consisting of a crewneck, tee, shorts, jumpsuit, and side bag. The apparel collection takes roots in traditional ribbon shirts and weaving techniques to highlight the craftsmanship and detailing.

The Summer 2022 N7 Collection is set to launch on June 21st on Nike.com along with Nike storefronts and select retailers.
