Nike and Sacai have teamed up on a set of outerwear to prep you for the oncoming cold in extreme style.
While Chitose Abe’s partnership with Nike goes back long before their release, the duo are most well-known for the merged, reconstructed aesthetic seen in 2019s LDV Waffles and Blazer Highs. The doubled-up look by no means defines the entirety of Sacai’s work, but it shines through even further in the upcoming apparel collection.
The trio is comprised of two puffer jackets (one in women’s sizing and one in men’s, though they’re designed to be unisex) and a hoodie. The women’s parka contrasts intense faux fur paneling and collars with a classic nylon puffer shell. It comes in four colorways—navy, olive, white, and black—and uses a slightly cropped cut to alter the wearer’s silhouette.
The men’s puffer jacket, on the other hand, swaps the fur for luxe wool on the pockets, cuffs, arms, and back. The jacket comes in three colors and is made to keep you warm and dry with 700 fill insulation and water-resistant fabric. The entire collection is rounded out by a bomber-inspired hoodie, which features nylon paneling and an arm pocket atop a traditional cotton hoodie cut.
The Sacai x Nike Outerwear collection releases on October 20th via Nike’s website and Sacai. The duo are expected to drop their collaborative VaporWaffle extremely soon, and the shoes are even included in the product shots of the jackets. As always, stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for upcoming news.
