Nike will be releasing tie-dyed colorways of the Air Force 1 Low and Air Max 97 to celebrate the 15th annual Summer of Peace March in Chicago, a peaceful protest where Chicago residents march through the streets in the name of love, positivity, and anti-violence.
The Air Force 1’s come in a fully tie-dyed canvas upper, white midsoles and icy translucent outsoles. There are Chicago flag colored motifs on the tongue, heel, and insole. The heel graphic has the Chicago skyline embedded in the upper sky blue bar of the flag. the tongue replaces the Chicago stars with “NIKE” in a bold red font. The insole has one of Chicago’s oldest symbols, the “Y” representative of where the three branches of the Chicago River meet, found on many city government projects, buildings, and utilities, with a red Swoosh in the middle.
The Air Max 97 comes in white leather overlays and tie-dyed canvas underlays and a tie-dyed tongue and the same icy outsole as the Air Force 1’s. Similar Chicago flag colored motifs are on the tongue, insole, and pull tab on the heel. The tongue uses the “Y” symbol, the insole uses the skyline flag, and the pull tab simply has Air Max in Chicago Red with two thin blue lines on either side.
