Original Story (04/10/26): Some shoes are born with lore already attached, and the “Tianjin” Foamposite is one of them. When Nike dropped the original back in 2015 as an Asia-exclusive, it became the kind of sneaker collectors could only dream about. Now, over a decade later, Nike is revisiting that chapter.
The Foamposite shell does what it does best: acts as a full canvas. Just like the original, it’s covered in richly detailed Chinese folk-inspired artwork: koi carp weaving through blooming lotus flowers. It’s the kind of imagery that rewards a closer look every single time.
What separates this version from the 2015 original is the construction update. The darker accents from the predecessor have been swapped out for white detailing across the lining, tongue, and lace panels, giving the overall shoe a brighter, sharper feel that lets the graphics breathe even more. And unlike the original’s soft pink outsole, the 2.0 goes bold with a Light Poison Green sole that glows against all that white and color like the final brushstroke on a painting.
In terms of details, the tongue badge features an embroidered lotus flower, the heel carries Chinese-character embroidery set against a golden lotus flower silhouette, and the multicolor striped pull tab adds festive energy without overpowering the rest of the design.
Like the original “Tianjin” Foamposite, this “Tianjin 2.0” iteration is also expected to be a China-exclusive release with extremely tight inventory, so if you’re not plugged into overseas boutiques or resale platforms, start getting familiar.
