Virgil Abloh and Nike will be releasing a University Blue Air Force 1 to celebrate the opening of Virgil’s new exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago titled “Figures of Speech”. It was thought by many that the shoes would be released at the museum when the exhibit opened, similarly to how the MoMA Air Force 1s were released. However, the museum put out a tweet saying that the shoes would not be released at the museum and those interested in the release should expect a drop on SNKRS and Frenzy apps in the coming weeks.
This pair of Air Force 1s may not be as limited as the MoMA pair which were only released at the museum itself. Empty Gallery, Off-White’s New York City outpost, held a raffle for the shoes with winners and pick up information to be announced on Friday, June 7.
