Paige Bueckers’ love for Shirley Temples has officially become one of the most successful athlete-brand stories in recent memory.
What started with a viral tweet declaring her loyalty to the classic cherry drink eventually turned into a custom Gatorade flavor. Last summer, Gatorade surprised the self-proclaimed old soul with her own Shirley Temple Gatorade, originally available only for Bueckers and through a limited giveaway. Now, fans will finally get the chance to buy it.
The pink Thirst Quencher flavor mimics the Dallas Wings superstar’s favorite mocktail with notes of lemon-lime, grenadine, and cherry. It will be available for purchase as part of a $65 Shirley Temple capsule that includes a custom Shirley Temple Gatorade Thirst Quencher bottle featuring “P5” branding and cherry graphics, a co-branded Nike T-shirt, and a matching towel. The tee carries Gatorade and Paige branding on the front, while the back features a receipt-inspired “Buckets On Tap” graphic finished with Paige’s signature. For fans who just want the drink itself, Gatorade is also releasing a $20 set containing the limited-edition Shirley Temple bottle and matching towel.
The timing also lines up with another Shirley Temple-inspired release from Bueckers. Nike is expected to launch the Paige Bueckers x Nike GT Cut 4 “Shirley Buckets” very soon, extending the playful theme from the beverage to the basketball court. Together, the two releases continue turning one of Paige’s favorite drinks into a full-blown signature aesthetic.
