Original Story (07/15/24): The Patta x Nike Air Max 1 “Chlorophyll” has been rumored to return for some time now, and it looks like we now have some confirmation.
Edson Sabajo and Guillaume ‘Gee’ Schmidt, co-founders of the Amsterdam-based streetwear boutique, were in attendance at the Patta x Tems pop-up over the weekend, both wearing their iconic collaboration with Nike, the Air Max 1 “Chlorophyll.” In a photo the co-founders took with Tems, the Nigerian singer is seen holding a Nike shoe box with special 20th anniversary branding.
The collaborative “Chlorophyll” AM1 first released in 2009 in celebration of Patta’s 5 year anniversary and is now set to return in 2024 for Patta’s 20th anniversary. It features OG color blocking, white mesh uppers paired with grey nubuck and canvas overlays and nature green twill hits on the Swoosh and mudguard. Patta branding adorns the tongue tags, and an embroidered mini Swoosh adorns the lateral toe.
The 2024 edition of the “Chlorophyll” Air Max 1 appears identical to the 2009 release, though it is hard to tell for sure based on these early photos. We expect there to be some detail to differentiate the two versions, similar to how the HUF x Nike Air Max 1 recently returned with a subtle cracked leather effect.

Update (09/05/24): Patta and Nike have officially announced the release of the “Chlorophyll” Air Max 1 20th Anniversary. The shoe will be available exclusively at pattaxnike.com and Patta chapter stores on September 13th, with early in-store access available a day earlier at the Patta chapter store in Lagos, Nigeria.
Update (08/23/24): Here is a side-by-side comparison of the 5-year anniversary pair vs. the 20-year anniversary pair. The 2024 pair features a brighter green and comes with new graphic insoles.
