Original Story (02/20/26): Amsterdam-based streetwear brand Patta reunites with Nike to introduce two new colorways to their Air Max 1 “Waves” series.
Both pairs in this upcoming “Hyper Crimson” pack arrive with the iconic reworked mudguard designed to resemble the ripples of waves, plus Hyper Crimson accents reminiscent of the Netherlands’ national soccer kit. Paying homage to founders Edson Sabajo and Guillaume ‘Gee’ Schmidt and their shared Surinamese heritage, both styles also come equipped with gold bracelets with charms of the Suriname flag and the Nike Swoosh.
After various Air Max collaborations over the years, Patta turned its focus to the “Wave” Air Max 1s in 2021 and into 2022, releasing several colorways in that timeframe, including the “Monarch,” “Noise Aqua,” and “Dark Russet.” Last year, Patta brought the Wave motif back on the Air Max 90, before circling back to its most coveted collaborative silhouette: the Air Max 1.
Given the clear nod to the Netherlands’ kit, we can expect these Patta x Nike Air Max 1 colorways to drop in the upcoming months in celebration of this year’s FIFA World Cup. Update (02/27/26): The 5th anniversary edition Patta x Nike Air Max 1 “Wave” drops March 6 at 1pm CET on pattaxnike.com and at Patta chapter stores in Amsterdam, London, Milan, and Lagos. Currently, only the colorway with the orange mudguard is confirmed to release. Stay tuned for further updates.
Update (03/02/26): A Patta Satin Bomber Jacket and Wave T-Shirt will be available alongside the Air Max 1.
