Dr. Martens and Rick Owens are back with another footwear collaboration for Fall/Winter 2025 featuring three new boot styles.
A continuation of their partnership that kicked off in 2021, the Rick Owens x Dr. Martens FW25 collection features three waxed black leather boot styles equipped with Dr. Martens’ thick, towering platform Quad sole. The knee-high 1B60 Pentalace Boot is the standout style, featuring a geometric pentagram-like lace design that covers the entire upper. Rick Owens also reimagines the classic 1460 style with his signature Megalace system, formed of extra-long pearl laces across a series of hooks and loops. The third style is an elevated edition of the traditional steel toe work boot that combines classic eyelets and speed hooks with Rick Owen’s’ exaggerated wraparound laces. All three styles are equipped with easy access zips, extended geometric tongues, and special edition Dr. Martens AirWair heel loops.
Rick Owens reflects on this new collection: “I thought I invented it, but I only recently realized my mega-lacing is a memory of the boot worn by Joseph Beuys during his 1965 Action entitled ‘How To Explain Pictures To A Dead Hare.’ It was one of the first art moments I encountered that formed who I am today. Isn’t it great to realize the power of what we retail subliminally? That mix of industrial construction, shamanistic ceremony bordering on pagan hallucination is still what keeps me going…”
