After a few leaks and teasers, Ronnie Fieg officially announces the release of a new four-piece collection of New Balance 990s created in celebration of Kith’s 10-year anniversary.
The collection features the 990v1, 990v2, 990v3, and 990v4, each dressed in a color scheme inspired by a past Fieg x New Balance release. The release of the collection will take place over four days, and as the New Balance 990 is celebrating its 40th anniversary, the releases will start on Ronnie’s 40th birthday.
Kicking things off is the 990v4 “United Arrows & Sons.” This is the same colorway as a Kith x New Balance 997 released in 2018, which was created as a tribute to one of Ronnie’s favorite New Balance’s ever, the 2008 United Arrows & Sons x New Balance 997.5. This one drops on Ronnie’s birthday, Wednesday, June 15th.
Next up is the 990v3 “Daytona.” This colorway was inspired by family vacations Ronnie’s family would take to Daytona Beach, Florida when he was a kid. This navy, pink, and tan color scheme was first on the Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 1600 “Daytona” released on Black Friday, 2013. Release date for the 990v3 is Thursday, June 16th.
The third release is the 990v2 “Cyclades.” This one pays tribute to the “Cyclades” colorway from the 2016 Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 997.5 “Mykonos” pack. The colors on this one are inspired by the view at the Nammos resort in Mykonos, Greece. Orange represents the sun umbrellas, beige is the beach sand, and seafoam green is glistening water of the Aegean Sea. Catch these on Friday, June 17th.
Rounding out the collection is the 990v1 “Dusty Rose.” This one is inspired by the Kith exclusive New Balance 990v2 “Dusty Rose” which released in 2020 as a Kithstrike shock drop. The final drop of the collection will take place on Saturday, June 18th.
This collection marks the first time that New Balance has collaborated on full-family sizing. Pre-school, toddler, and crib sizes of each colorway will be releasing alongside the adult pairs, though they are all executed on the 990v4 silhouette.
The whole Ronnie Fieg for New Balance 990 Anniversary Collection will be available on Kith.com and at all Kith locations. Early access will begin rolling out today via the newly launched Kith app, available to download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
