Louisiana-based skate shop Rukus is teaming up with New Balance for a Numeric 480 collaboration inspired by duck hunting and growing up in the South.
The collaborative sneaker features a color palette that draws from the mallard duck, with premium brown suede reminiscent of its feathers, tumbled yellow leather to represent the beak, and orange accents nodding to the animal’s feet. A key detail includes an iridescent “N” logo, mimicking the duck’s feathers when they become wet.
The Rukus Skateshop x New Balance Numeric 480 “Mallard Duck” drops December 6th on rukus103.com (1pm CT) and at 11am at a pop-up in Baton Rouge (10156 Perkins Rowe Suite 160). Pairs purchased from Rukus will come with an exclusive custom duck camo box, Rukus binoculars, a duck call, and an enamel keychain. A global release will follow on December 12th at select skate shops and December 15th on the New Balance website. Check out the pair below.
