Original Story (03/03/25): In 2021, New Balance designer Yue Wu created a distressed iteration of the 2002R featuring jagged overlays to create an “eroded” look. While Wu’s original title for the concept was “Refined Future,” the internet gave this 2002R a different name, the “Protection Pack.”

Various colorways of the New Balance 2002R “Protection Pack” have released over the years, and now UK-based retailer size? is offering three exclusive colorways of their own in celebration of their 25th anniversary. One comes dressed in metallic silver, another in earthy brown and grey tones, while the third comes in black and charcoal grey.

Update (03/09/25): The size? x New Balance 2002R “Protection Pack” will be made available in three seperate drops, starting with the earthy brown pair. This colorway draws inspiration from core minerals and natural metals. The draw in now live on the size? launches app and closes on March 12th.
