Sneaker Politics is celebrating 20 years in business with a new collaboration that takes the retailer into Western territory. The Louisiana-based shop has teamed up with Timberland on two reworked versions of the 6-Inch Waterproof Boot, dubbed “Outlaw” and “Rodeo.”
“Outlaw” is built on Timberland’s familiar silhouette but finished in soft pebbled black leather, with side and toe stitching pulled straight from cowboy boot construction, a wave-and-flame pattern that replaces Timberland’s usual straight seams. The collar gets an alligator-inspired embossed leather treatment in place of the standard nubuck, and a laser-etched Politics “P” sits on the inside of the tongue. A leather hang tag, stitched with stars and “20 YRS” debossed into it, hangs off the laces as a nod to the anniversary.
“Rodeo” swaps the black leather and croc-embossed collar for a tan pair finished with a cowhide collar in a black, white, and brown spotted pattern, matched with the same wave-and-flame stitching and hang tag.
Underneath the styling, the boot keeps Timberland’s cold-weather construction intact. That means a TimberDry waterproof membrane, 400 grams of PrimaLoft insulation, and a ReBOTL fabric lining made with at least 50% recycled plastic, all sitting on a steel shank and a rubber lug outsole. The laces are 100% recycled PET, and the boot ships with debossed leather insoles inside a co-branded Politics x Timberland box.
