Atlanta’s influence on sneakers, sport, and culture continues to grow, and adidas is tapping directly into that energy with its latest collaboration. The brand has linked up with Sole Play for the “Press Play” Predator Sala, a release rooted in football, gaming, technology, music, and the creative spirit that has long defined the city. As Atlanta continues to emerge as a major hub ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the collaboration arrives at a moment when the city’s cultural impact is impossible to ignore.
The release arrives as Atlanta continues to build momentum around the World Cup and the growing relationship between soccer and culture in the United States. For adidas and Sole Play, the project is not just about celebrating the sport — it is also about highlighting how Black and Brown communities continue to shape the intersection of sport, style, music, gaming, and technology.
Developed through the adidas Business Track program, an initiative created to support BIPOC-serving retailers through community investment, mentorship, and industry access, the “Press Play” Predator Sala brings Sole Play’s community-first approach into product form. The concept pulls from gaming culture and the idea of creating your own lane. It speaks to overcoming barriers, trusting your own vision, and finding success without waiting for permission.
The Predator Sala blends adidas’ soccer heritage with design cues inspired by competitive gaming and Atlanta’s creative identity. It is a silhouette built around confidence, individuality, and self-expression, which feels fitting for a city that has always moved culture forward in its own way.
The design is packed with details that reinforce the “Press Play” concept. Each pair comes with a set of interchangeable tongue covers in red, green, blue, metallic, and black with a circuit board print, allowing wearers to customize the look. Lenticular emblems on the heels shift between the adidas Three Stripes logo and pause/play symbols depending on the viewing angle, tying directly into the collaboration’s gaming-inspired theme. Additional red, green, and blue lace options nod to RGB display technology, while also referencing the colors of the adidas Trionda match ball, further connecting the project to the sport that serves as its foundation.
“For us, this collaboration is about showing what’s possible when communities are given space to lead with their own ideas,” says Anthony “TJ” Bennett, founder of Sole Play. “Atlanta has always been a city where people create from instinct, turn limitations into innovation, and move culture forward before the rest of the world catches up. We wanted ‘Press Play’ to reflect that energy and inspire the next generation to trust their own vision.”
To celebrate the release, adidas Cornerstone Community and Sole Play will host a series of consumer-facing activations during World Cup season. The rollout begins with a takeover at Decatur Watch Fest on June 11th, featuring early product access, community programming, and a special appearance from Big Boi. On June 13th, Sole Play will host an all-day in-store launch activation. The weekend closes on June 14th with a World Cup-inspired community gathering at The Retreat alongside local nonprofit partners, with appearances from T.I., Monica, and Atlanta community leaders. Music will be curated by Jerry Clark, with support from Rémy Martin.
