Stone Island and New Balance are back with another chapter of their ongoing football-meets-fashion collaboration, and the Summer 2026 capsule is their most complete version of that idea yet — two brands with genuine material obsessions applying them to a sport that has long since outgrown the pitch.
The anchor piece is the New Balance ABZORB 1890 sneaker, dropping in two colorways. The 1890 is still a relatively new silhouette, and Stone Island joins a short list of collaborators that includes Action Bronson, Joe Freshgoods, and JJJJound. Good company for a shoe that’s only just getting started.
The 1890 borrows its sole unit from New Balance’s 2002 archive, with a micro ripstop upper, no-sew overlays, and a high-frequency welded reflective teardrop at the toe. The olive/khaki colorway has the tonal restraint Stone Island does better than almost anyone; the all-black version goes in the other direction.
The apparel follows the same logic. The Nylon Prismatico-TC hooded jacket is the standout: a lightweight nylon bonded to a grooved polyurethane film that creates a water-like appearance, shifting between functional outerwear and something you’d want to look at under gallery lighting. The matching training bag uses the same fabric. Reversible track jackets and trousers in resin-coated ripstop round out the outerwear, while garment-dyed fleece and tees in juniper green and ivory keep the color story grounded.
On the pitch side, the jersey and shorts arrive in engineered jacquard with a graphic combining the Stone Island compass, New Balance logo and a two-stripe motif. Professional soccer players Bukayo Saka and Endrick front the campaign, shot by Bolade Banjo, and the kit looks like something they’d actually have in their closet.
