Supreme and Nike SB have teamed for a new collaboration that reimagines Charles Barkley’s classic signature shoe from 1994 as skatable footwear.
Originally designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Nike Air Max2 CB 94 was made to compliment the power and tenacity of Charles Barkley. The high-top shoe was tough but lightweight for its time, featuring an inner neoprene bootie and Air Max2 (Air Max squared) technology, which utilized multiple chambers at different PSI levels—5 PSI in the heel for cushioning and 25 PSI on the sides for stability. A low-top version was later introduced in the mid-2000s.
Supreme is now bringing back the Air Max CB ’94 Low in collaboration with Nike SB in three colorways, turning the iconic ’90s basketball shoe into a skate-ready silhouette while preserving the shoe’s original design language. Each pair features a leather upper with perforated reflective mesh underlays, a visible heel airbag, padded mesh and elastic tongues, and Supreme branding on the heel loops and insoles.
The shoe comes in offered in stealthy all-black, in all-white with a classic gum rubber outsole, and in a shiny metallic gold colorway reminiscent of Supreme’s Air Uptempo collaboration from 2017.
The Supreme x Nike SB Air Max CB ’94 Low drops Thursday, March 5th on the Supreme website (11am ET) and at Supreme locations (available in Asia March 7th).
