This week’s Supreme drop features a reunion between the coveted New York City skate and streetwear label and legendary Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto. Coming on the heels of its Nike SB Dunk Low drop, Supreme is now releasing a collaboration with Y’s, Yohji Yamamoto’s first-ever brand founded in 1972, nine years before his main line debuted in 1981.
Combining the rebellious punk spirit of both brands with Yamamoto’s avant-garde approach to design, the Fall 2025 collection is an amalgamation of NYC and Tokyo’s subversive countercultures. The garments prominently feature original artwork by NYC-based tattoo artist Joe Chatt, including intricate skull motifs on leather jackets and a web-like all-over print on denim work jackets, baggy jeans, and thermal tops. Other pieces featuring with his work include silk zip-up collared shirts with a grim reaper on the back, zip-up hoodies with horned skulls on the chest and back, and a long-sleeve tee with an eight-legged skull creature printed on the back. Chatt’s designs are also applied to headwear, including the grommet-adorned 6-panel hats and embroidered horned skull beanies.
Other standout pieces include the faux fur WINDSTOPPER hooded bomber jacket in red and black colorways, denim utility pants with grommets at the pockets and bungee cords at the leg cuffs, and knit sweaters with “666” boldly placed across the chest. An illustration by another NYC-based creative, multi-disciplinary artist Maggie Lee, adorns the “Thinker” tee. Accessories round out the offering, such as silver wallet chains and bracelets in collaboration with The Great Frog and a traditional Kyoto fan by long-established Ohnishi Tsune Shoten.
The lookbook features Swedish singer and rapper Bladee of Drain Gang, appearing as a special guest alongside the other models. This collection marks the third collaboration between Supreme and Yohji Yamamoto, following up their first collab for Fall 2020 and their Fall 2022 collection featuring artwork from Tekken.
