Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone’s third New Balance collection has arrived, and this time the design process ran through her more than ever before. The Olympic hurdler, who has unhyphenated her last name and now goes by Sydney Levrone, is back with her most personal offering yet: an eight-piece collection that trades pure performance messaging for something that feels much closer to what she’d grab out of her closet in the morning.
The range splits evenly between apparel and footwear, and the throughline is restraint; nothing here screams for attention. The Define Fitted Tank and Define High Rise Legging lean into that second-skin, studio-to-street stretch fabric New Balance has been quietly perfecting, while the Athletics Crafted Crew and Athletics Crafted Pant swing in the opposite direction with a loose, French terry-heavy build that reads more “off day.” A dress rounds out the apparel side.
Footwear is where the collection flexes its range. The FuelCell Rebel v5 and the 9060R handle the lifestyle end, both dressed in the softer, muted grayscale palette Levrone has gravitated toward across her past drops. The real standout, though, is the SuperComp MD-X v3 x Sydney Levrone, which features a spike built with her input for the track, packing FuelCell cushioning and a lightweight plate designed for speed and efficiency.
What separates this collection from her first two is how much of the creative control landed in her hands.
“Designing my third Signature Collection allowed me to tap into the things I genuinely love to wear every day,” says Sydney Levrone. “This collection reflects my creative side more than ever before. New Balance encouraged me to lead the creative direction, and it was exciting to build pieces that feel true to who I am as an athlete and as a person.”
