Vans x SZA "VANSZA" Collection Release Date

Vans and SZA are bringing their new VANSZA collaboration to New York ahead of its official launch, opening an immersive experience during New York Fashion Week that explores the collection’s themes of nature, intuition, creativity, and self-discovery.

The VANSZA experience will be open to the public September 10 from 2-8pm and September 11 from 12-4pm at 260 Bowery in New York City. The activation offers an early look at the world behind the collaboration before the full campaign and collection arrive in October.

For the collection itself, SZA brings her perspective to both new footwear designs and familiar Vans silhouettes, with an emphasis on comfort, utility, exploration, and self-expression.

Leading the footwear lineup is the VANSZA LX Tabi Hiker, a new silhouette featuring a distinctive split-toe construction, outdoor-ready functionality, and expressive colorways selected by SZA.

SZA also reworks several Vans classics. The VANSZA Knu Skool Mule turns one of her favorite styles into an easy-on mule, while the VANSZA Knu Skool adds RealTree camouflage, interchangeable laces, and custom detailing inspired by natural textures. The VANSZA Authentic Kickdown features distressed canvas, custom fish artwork by Sage Adams, and a collapsible heel inspired by SZA’s habit of stepping on the backs of her shoes.

The apparel side of VANSZA follows the same mix of personal references and everyday functionality. One standout is the VANSZA Workwear Trompe L’Oeil Fleece Set, which recreates a well-worn workwear jacket from SZA’s personal collection as a photorealistic print across a crewneck fleece and matching sweatpants. Meanwhile, the VANSZA Denim Hunting Jacket and Multi-Pocket Denim Pant reinterpret vintage utility pieces through washed denim, oversized proportions, contrast corduroy, and exaggerated pockets.

Sage Adams’ watercolor artwork also appears across the apparel, including a grey fleece hoodie and sweatpant set covered in fish and insects, as well as a fish graphic tee.

“I wanted to create pieces that feel comfortable, functional, and expressive, whether you’re on a trail, in the city or discovering something new about yourself,” says SZA. “My hope is that people feel inspired to step outside their comfort zone, trust their instincts and have fun making something uniquely their own.”

Drop 1 from the VANSZA collection will be available October 22nd at Vans retail locations and Vans.com, with Drop 2 following on April 8, 2027. Check out the full range and grab a peek inside the NYFW space below.
