The Whitaker Group and New Balance are back with a new collaboration that celebrates cultural identity and individuality, titled “Willful Bias For Discovery.” The accompanying campaign, “Swing Different,” continues TWG’s mission of elevating Black culture and community through fashion, art, and purposeful storytelling.

The Whitaker Group x New Balance ABZORB 740 “Willful Bias For Discovery” is crafted for movement while keeping you grounded. Dressed in pearly white with black and gold brown accents, the sneaker features layered leather and synthetic overlays for structure and support, while its perforated mesh base provides enhanced airflow, keeping you cool through every move. Underfoot, an ABZORB-cushioned midsole sits atop a durable rubber outsole.

The accompanying short film takes place on a lush golf course and follows a stylish golfer who struts onto the pristine green. He swaps out traditional golf shoes for the ABZORB 740, challenges fellow players to a friendly match, and offers up a pair of 740s as a prize for the winner. As the game goes on, he proves that style and performance aren’t mutually exclusive. Bringing his confidence and authenticity to the golf course, he defeats his competition effortlessly in his distinct pair of 740s.

“Willful Bias for Discovery” marks the fourth entry in The Whitaker Group and New Balance’s collaborative “Willful Bias” series, following the 998 and 990v4 “Willful Bias for Education” drop earlier this year, 2024’s “Willful Bias for Community” 1906U pack, and 2023’s “Missing Pieces” 9060 pack.

Online raffles for The Whitaker Group x New Balance ABZORB 740 “Willful Bias For Discovery” are now open via each TWG retailer: A Ma Maniére, Social Status, APB, and JAIDE. Entries will be accepted until Monday, September 15th at 3pm ET.

The official public launch is set for Friday, September 19th, available via a-ma-maniere.com, socialstatuspgh.com, apbstore.com, and jaidejaide.com at 11am ET, and in-store at 12pm local time at all A Ma Maniére, Social Status, APB, and JAIDE locations. Check out the campaign images below.
