For her first venture into Y-3 territory, Grace Wales Bonner didn’t ease in, she went straight for something that feels entirely her own. First teased during the Spring/Summer 2026 Paris Fashion Week as part of the “Jewel” collection, the collab has been on the radar since, and now it’s finally here.
The Field Lizzard is a football-inspired low-top built on the bones of Y-3’s archive, dressed up in deep-brown reptile-embossed leather and off-white-and-black stripes that keep the whole thing grounded. A hand-stitched Y-3 logo sits on the tongue, and the striped lining inside brings a tailored detail.
The shoe anchors a full SS26 capsule that puts two very specific creative languages in conversation: Yohji Yamamoto’s sport-forward Tokyo minimalism and Wales Bonner‘s layered mix of Caribbean heritage and vintage British tailoring. The campaign, shot by Takashi Homma inside the intimate spaces of Tokyo collectors and creators, lets the work speak for itself.
The apparel holds its own, too: a dark brown satin jacket with Japanese nature-inspired embroidery across the back, a bold blue pair of pants with brown stripes, a very subtle graphic white tee, mesh tanks, and relaxed shorts built for summer. For accessories, we have earth-toned beanies and a patent-leather bag stamped in gold. Everything earns its place.
The Y-3 by Wales Bonner collection is now available on walesbonner.com, the adidas website, the CONFIRMED app, and at select retailers. The Field Lizzard and Leather Bag are currently exclusive to Wales Bonner and overseas stockists and not available in the US. Check out the full offering below.
