Willy Chavarria has always made clothing that carries weight. His pieces are rooted in Mexican-American identity, in the streets that shaped him, in the people who don’t usually get to see themselves in fashion. So when adidas Originals brought him in to design officially accredited Selección Nacional de México merchandise ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the result was never going to disappoint.

“Comienza Con El Sueño,” or “It Starts With the Dream,” is the collection’s title and thesis. The idea is that the World Cup moment doesn’t arrive from nowhere. It comes from a dirt pitch somewhere in a neighborhood, from people who believed in something before anyone else did. The campaign puts that conviction directly on screen, featuring a group of young Mexican football talent, senior national team players Jesús Gilberto Orozco and Jeremy Márquez, alongside Omar Campos and Ariel Castro, who are photographed on the kinds of fields where the dream actually starts.

The collection itself first appeared on Chavarria’s Autumn/Winter 2026 runway before landing here in FMF-badged form. The range covers the full spectrum of what football culture actually looks like off the pitch: officially accredited jerseys and a rugby shirt silhouette in two distinct motifs drawing from Mexico’s football heritage, a color-blocked track jacket in white, red, and black with “Mexico” across the chest in bold lettering, and a deep green jersey dripping with Chavarria embroidery and patch detailing. One of the standout pieces is a maximalist yellow, purple, orange and green all-over-print kit that is hard to look away from and is very reminiscent of something that Jorge Campos would rock on the field. Beyond the pitch pieces, there’s a blazer worn over a jersey, a button-up shirt labeled “Chavarria Fine Athletic Fashions” and long soccer shorts with gold rose embroidery. As for accessories, Chavarria added a scarf, adjustable caps, and a leather gym bag to pair.

Footwear arrives in the form of three Megaride-platform silhouettes. The Megaride AG XL comes in black with red accents, while the Megaride Bones features a skeletal-like molded TPU cage across the upper, The Willy Chavarria Megaride Copa, a football-inspired shoe with an upper pulled from the Copa Mundial cleat, rounds out the offering.
