Wolverine and Captain America Unite in Weapon Plus #1

The two heroes origins are interconnected in Marvel's new story.

Last night at 2:27 AM Chicago time, Marvel sent out a mysterious tweet that contained the Roman Numerals “II IV V VI IX” as well as a link to a page containing computer coding and three redacted memos that make references to the Weapon Plus program and Super Soldier serum.

In the Marvel Universe, the Weapon Plus Program’s purpose is to create super-soldiers that will fight the wars of the future, especially a Mutant-Human war. The confidential files that were “leaked” correspond to Weapon I (Captain America), Weapon X (Wolverine), and Weapon XIII (Fantomex).

Following the mysterious tweet, Marvel has since announced that the secret organization behind the Weapon Plus Program will be spotlighted in a new comic book: Wolverine & Captain America: Weapon Plus #1.

Weapon Plus is a one-shot 40-page comic book written by Ethan Sacks that unveils the shadowy connections between Captain America, Wolverine, and more of the world’s Super-Soldiers. The issue goes on sale July 10 and features artwork by Diogenes Neves, coloring by Federico Blee, and ink by Adriano Di Benedetto.
