Japanese streetwear veterans WTAPS (pronounced “double taps”) have teamed up with New Balance for a collaboration on the ABZORB 2010, reimagined in the brand’s signature military-inspired olive drab and grey color palette.
The WTAPS 2010 pairs steel grey suede overlays with light grey nubuck and mesh, all washed in a subtle olive-green tint for a utilitarian, military-inspired look and feel. Its standout design element is the debossed “WTVUA” foxing logo—an acronym for WTAPS Visual Up Armored—which reflects the brand’s ethos of merging protection, precision, and purpose-built design. Additional details include embossed WTAPS logos on the heel tabs, neon green ABZORB SBS pods in the midsoles, and co-branded insoles.
This marks the fifth collaboration between WTAPS and New Balance, following their previous releases on the MADE in USA 992, 990v2, 990v6, and 998. Like those pairs, the ABZORB 2010 continues the brands’ shared theme of olive and grey tones rooted in WTAPS’ utilitarian aesthetic.
The WTAPS x New Balance ABZORB 2010 “Olive Drab” will be available globally October 10th on the New Balance website and at select retailers. Pairs will also be available on the WTAPS webstore and at WTAPS locations in Japan. Check them out below.
