Nike has unveiled an official collaboration with Yu-Gi-Oh!, the legendary Japanese anime and manga series.
Headlining the project from Nike’s .SWOOSH division is the Air Max 95 “Joey,” inspired by Joey Wheeler’s “Air Muscle” sneakers from the show — which itself is an homage to the Air Max 95. The pair arrives in blue hues just like Joey’s, with “air muscle” tongue branding replacing the classic “air max.” Manga-style halftone shading runs across the uppers, while scratch-mark graphics pulled straight from the anime appear on the midsoles and rear Air units. Co-branding on the back of the heels nods to the copyright text on Yu-Gi-Oh! trading cards, while the outsoles are adorned with a Yu-Gi-Oh! logo and TCG-inspired print. Joey and his Red-Eyes Black Dragon are featured on the insoles and special packaging, and each pair comes with an exclusive Spell Card, Winds of Victory.
A grayscale “Jonouchi” edition pays homage to the series’ manga origins. This version includes its own limited-edition Japanese-language Trap Card, Trap of the Poisonous Scorpion. These cards mark the first time KONAMI has co-created official Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG cards with an outside brand. While the “Joey” pair will release globally, the “Jonouchi” will remain exclusive to Japan.
The footwear is joined by a heavyweight Yu-Gi-Oh! x Nike Destroyer Jacket, styled like a varsity dueling team uniform. Constructed from wool with premium leather sleeves, it features a Domino High School chenille patch, referencing the school Joey attended in the Yu-Gi-Oh! series. Additional details include a quilted satin lining, the kanji characters “遊戯王” and the Nike Swoosh logo on the back, and an extra set of 12 patches for your own customization.
Rounding out the collection is the Solo Swoosh Tee, featuring the official partnership co-branding on the front and a Red-Eyes Black Dragon graphic on the back. This tee is offered in black, white, and grey colorways (availability will vary by region).
